Workshop participants practising a centring exercise

Why this workshop

Leadership begins with how you organise yourself.

Leadership lives in more than our plans, words and frameworks. It shows up in how we enter a room, listen, hold boundaries, advocate for what we believe in, and stay connected when difference or uncertainty appears.

Leadership Embodiment is a practical somatic approach developed by Wendy Palmer. Drawing on principles from Aikido, mindfulness and body-based learning, it helps people recognise their habitual responses under pressure and access a more centred, resilient and integrated way of leading: able to listen deeply and to step forward decisively, to receive and to advocate.

This Level 1 workshop is predominantly experiential. You learn directly through your own body, with just enough explanation to frame each practice. The exercises are simple and non-strenuous, and the inquiry can go deep.

Who this workshop is for

This workshop is for you if you are:

  • a coach, facilitator, trainer or consultant who wants to bring more embodied presence to your work with others
  • a leader in a corporate or non-profit setting, wanting to lead with greater clarity, steadiness and impact
  • someone who works closely with others or holds space for groups
  • ready to step forward: to speak up, advocate and take a stand for what matters to you
  • curious about leadership, personal development and somatic approaches, and drawn to exploring how to lead yourself first

No previous experience of embodiment or body-based work is needed. Level 1 is the entry point to the method, and a foundation you can keep building on.

What you will explore and practise

Much leadership training offers useful models for what to do. Leadership Embodiment adds the state from which we do it. You practise recognising the physical organisation that shows up when you are challenged, and shifting it, so that insight becomes something you can embody in the moment it matters.

  • developing a personal centring practice you can use anywhere
  • noticing your habitual patterns under stress, and finding your way back to centre
  • building resilience and stability under pressure
  • recognising the signals of intuition and embodied knowing
  • aligning body, heart and mind around an intention
  • advocating for what matters with focus and clarity, while staying open and connected
  • meeting resistance, in yourself or in others, with centred strength
  • creating boundaries without building barriers
  • staying with paradox, difference and uncertainty
  • listening beneath words and holding space for different perspectives

Twelve places, two days, one weekend in Prague.

What you will take away

You will leave with a centring practice you can return to again and again, a more precise awareness of your patterns under pressure, and practical ways to work with presence, boundaries and connection, and to advocate with clarity for what matters to you.

Because you will have learned all of this through your own body, it tends to stay with you, and to be there when you need it most.

The format

Over two days, we work through simple practices in pairs and as a group, alongside reflection and shared conversation. Together we create a focused, supportive space for inquiry, where noticing what happens in you is itself the learning. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

For ICF-credentialed coaches, the workshop offers 14 Continuing Coach Education units. Alongside the credits, it gives you a direct, felt experience of presence and relationship, deepening your awareness of what happens beneath the words in a coaching conversation.

Interview with Paul King and Lucie

Meet Paul and discover the two Prague workshops

In this conversation with Lucie, Paul shares the personal journey that led him to the work he does today. He explains why the body matters, how he works with people and what participants can expect from each of the two Prague workshops.

You will hear who Inhabit and Leadership Embodiment Level 1 are designed for, how the two formats differ and what may begin to change when mind and body stop working against each other and start leading together.

The interview is in English, so it is also a natural opportunity to hear Paul before booking and decide whether you feel comfortable following him during the workshop.

About Paul King

Paul King has spent more than 35 years helping people bring body and mind together, so they can live and lead with greater presence, ease and impact. He is co-founder of The Beyond Partnership and was the first person in Europe certified by Wendy Palmer to teach Leadership Embodiment, which he has taught internationally since 2008. His work also draws on Aikido, tai chi, Feldenkrais and NLP.

Paul's approach is curious, warm and exploratory. He creates a focused, supportive space where people can notice their patterns, discover new choices and take them out into their lives.

Before specialising in coaching and embodiment, Paul worked at Deloitte and PwC, so he knows the pressures of organisational life from the inside.
